Tell us a bit about yourself: I string words together and generate ideas for a living and spend the rest of my time drawing. I’ve been drawing since I learned to hold a pen, and I’ve always been fascinated with human faces.Apart from art, I am drawn to music (I worship a lot of musical artists and I love going to and crying at concerts), food (I love reading about, thinking about, talking about, and making food), and dogs (I am the sidekick to 2 puppies and 2 adult puppies).I remember faces better than names, I only wear the colors blue, black, gray, and white, I never leave home without a pen and notebook, and I still remember and can recite most nursery rhymes.
Tell us about your work and your style: I mainly use traditional watercolor techniques to draw subjects I am drawn to – human faces, mostly. Sometimes I render these watercolor artworks on the computer and mix them with graphic shapes. The artworks I have are mostly portraits of pop culture icons plus a bonus ode to my favorite drink.
Favorite musical artist/album? I have a very, very, very long list of favorites, but top of mind answer would be Vampire Weekend. I love ALL their albums, and I would want to see them play live again (in which I shall cry again hahaha).
Favorite drink? I drink coffee as if my life depended on it. Because it does. I prefer mine brewed, nothing added.
What was your favorite toy as a kid? Crayons and paper and LEGO. And I’m happy to report that I have not outgrown them.
If you were to pick between Batman and Ironman, who would you pick? Batman! Because writing copy and event scripts is my Bruce Wayne and drawing faces is my Batman. And because I haven’t watched any of the Ironman films. Oops!
Choose a movie title for the story of your life. If it’s an existing movie title, then I guess something as WTF as “Kapag ang Palay Naging Bigas, May Bumayo” or “Diligan ng Suka ang Uhaw na Lumpia.” If I have to make one up, it will probably be my favorite expression: Charaught.
Who’s the boss in your house? Our canine cuties who I’ve recently named as The Schublig Squad.
