Wooden Canvas at Manila Times(photo by Angelo Cantera)

Last June,  Angelo Cantera of Manila Times called us asking for a short interview about our business. He writes articles for Manila Times in the Lifestyle Section.  It was first time that someone from media contacted us and this opportunity made us excited.

On the day of the interview, we didn’t prepare much since this is just a casual interview.  Armed with his dslr camera and audio recording device, the interrogation started ( I mean the interview..hehe).

About the Artist

Niel knew at an early age that art was his passion. He loved making doodles of his childhood heroes. His favourite- Ultraman!

Niel’s great fondness for Ultraman drove him to seriously pursue the arts. He wanted to make his dream a reality by studying graphic design. This helped develop his skills and learn more about what he loves to do. Throughout the course, he discovered that he wanted to use Vector as a medium for his creations. He experimented with it and used watercolour effect on his pieces. He also used black and white style in some of his works, together with geometrical figures to create new images. Aside from graphic design, Niel is also a talented photographer. He uses his photos as subjects for his vector arts.

About the Exhibit

It was just supposed to be an impulse trip to Cubao Expo, when he passed by Wooden Canvas Shop. Niel wasn’t expecting that he will soon be showcasing and selling his works in an exhibit.

Earth’s Federation Vector Force, Niel’s 1^st Exhibit will run from March 1 to March 21 at the Wooden Canvas Shop, Cubao Expo. Eight random pieces will be featured. These were inspired by the artist’s emotions and social situations during different times in his life.

Formal opening of the exhibit will be on March 6, 2010. See you there!
